Rear Admiral Christian Odogwu Robert Ezekobe (Rtd) brings extensive expertise in maritime strategic operations and defence management to the Governing Board. His distinguished naval career spans several high-level command, operational, and policy-making roles that underscore his exceptional leadership and strategic acumen.
He has commanded NNS BEECROFT, one of the Nigerian Navy’s key operational bases, where he demonstrated strong capability in maritime security operations and base administration. At the strategic level, he served as Director of Information at Naval Headquarters, playing a critical role in naval communication, public affairs, and strategic messaging.
Rear Admiral Ezekobe further served as Chief of Naval Transformation, where he contributed to modernization initiatives, capability development, and the alignment of naval operations with emerging global security demands. As Chief of Policy and Plans, he was responsible for shaping strategic directives, long-term planning, and policy frameworks for the Nigerian Navy—highlighting his deep understanding of defense strategy, maritime governance, and organizational development.
His broad professional experience, supported by a strong educational background, positions him as a valuable contributor to the Institute’s mandate. Rear Admiral Ezekobe’s blend of operational insight, policy expertise, and strategic vision enhances the Board’s ability to guide the Institute toward achieving its objectives in maritime security research, capacity development, and national strategic advancement.
