
The International Maritime Institute of Nigeria (IMION) is a think-tank and research institute established on June 1, 2024, to advance maritime strategy, policy advocacy, and education in Nigeria. The institute focuses on critical maritime security and governance issues, especially in the Gulf of Guinea (GoG), a region of strategic importance for global maritime activities.
IMION complements the efforts of government agencies in the maritime sector by serving as a hub for mobilizing maritime experts. It facilitates the free exchange of ideas on maritime-related matters, assisting in policy planning and implementation. This approach aims to strengthen the development of maritime policies and address challenges through collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
