Dr. Ifesinachi Okafor-Yarwood

Dr. Ifesinachi Okafor-Yarwood brings a strong blend of academic and practical expertise in maritime security and governance. She holds a PhD in Leadership, Security, and Development from King’s College London and has extensive experience as a research consultant on maritime security for the United Nations and various international organisations.

Dr. Okafor-Yarwood has led significant research projects on maritime governance, fisheries management, and the impact of maritime security on local communities. Her numerous publications and policy papers in these areas, along with her role as a Lecturer in Sustainable Development at the University of St Andrews, demonstrate her ability to provide valuable insights and leadership to the Institute’s mission.
